Sperry & Rice really doesn’t make products because everything we do is custom. We make projects happen from concept to completion.
That doesn’t mean we’re more expensive, but it does mean that we take our expertise and focus it on your needs and your requirements. Instead of creating rubber extrusions that sit on a shelf until they’re needed, we make custom components that perform exactly as they’re supposed to for your specific project.
Our website doesn’t show dozens of product categories that might or might not describe the extrusion or fit your needs. Rather, we tell you about our capabilities, because when it comes to rubber, we can make anything. We’re not bragging, that’s the truth.
Sperry & Rice is different than many rubber extrusion companies because we manage each step of the process - from design, to manufacturing, to finishing. Our engineering and advanced manufacturing process is matched only by our expertise, which is why we can be relied on to produce parts that are specifically designed to suit your needs.
Working with Sperry & Rice begins with a consultation with one of our engineers to determine your needs and your project’s requirements. We'll review your specifications, samples, and sketches, and even visit your location if necessary. Then we’ll use 3D imaging programs like AutoCAD, CadCam, and Inventor to develop a plan to manufacture your custom part with both performance and cost in mind.
In addition to working with you on the design of your component, our engineers can help you determine which material is best for your project. The most appropriate material will vary depending on your application, so it's important to work with a company that is familiar with many types of rubber. Sperry & Rice works with the full range of rubber materials, including:
- Natural Rubber
- Styrene Butadiene (SBR)
- EPDM sponge
Once we have confirmed your design, requirement, and materials, we will produce a sample for your review. You'll have the opportunity to verify that the component meets your or your customer’s criteria before you commit to a full production run.
Our manufacturing team will take care of your custom compound development and mixing, tooling, extrusion, and forming to fulfill your order. We'll also utilize our rubber lab testing facilities and statistical process control to evaluate and maintain quality throughout the manufacturing process. Before your order leaves our facility, we will test it in-house to ensure it continues to meet your expectations.
When you work with Sperry & Rice, you can be sure that your project will be designed, tested, manufactured, and delivered according to your specifications with cost and quality in mind.
